Founded in 2019, Melman & Mugno LLC is a two-member law firm that focuses on criminal defense and family law matters. The firm’s two members, David Melman and Matthew Mugno, are longtime friends, having met in law school in 2005.  After his graduation from law school, Attorney Melman returned to the Lehigh Valley, where he quickly developed a reputation as a diligent, ethical, competent and compassionate lawyer. Attorney Mugno practiced in Northern New Jersey and the Poconos before relocating to the Lehigh Valley in 2019. Since 2019, Attorney Mugno has focused on family law and various types of civil litigation matters. The firm prides itself on its ability to provide personalized and effective legal representation in a variety of matters, tailored to meet the specialized needs of each client.

Who We Are

  • David N. Melman

    David Melman

    Attorney David Melman is a native of the Lehigh Valley. He attended Moravian Academy and graduated from Muhlenberg College in 2005, with a dual degree in Political Science and Environmental Science. He continues a long family tradition of law, having a mother, uncle, great uncle and cousins who are lawyers. After graduating from Widener University School of Law in 2008, Attorney Melman has practiced law throughout Eastern Pennsylvania for more than 15 years. Attorney Melman focuses on criminal law defense cases and is capital case certified. Attorney Melman has a strong commitment to the Lehigh Valley and has served as a member of the Allentown Environmental Advisory Committee. When he is not working, Attorney Melman enjoys spending time with his wife, playing guitar and drums, traveling, and hosting trivia events.

    Matt Mugno

    Attorney Matthew Mugno was born in New York and raised in the Poconos. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from East Stroudsburg University in 2005, and his Juris Doctor Degree from Widener University School of Law in 2008. Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey since 2008, Attorney Mugno focuses on family law and handles divorce and separation, property settlement agreements, custody, adoption and protection from abuse matters. He has a strong commitment to his clients and his profession. He currently serves as a Divorce Review Officer for a Lehigh Court of Common Pleas Judge and as Protection from Abuse Contempt Counsel for the Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas. When not practicing law, he enjoys playing the guitar, weightlifting, and baking.
